We are researchers at the University of Maryland. The purpose of this study is to learn about how families share money, family decisions, and time.
Who is eligible
You must be between 25-54 years old You must live with your partner or be married.
Both partners must agree to participate in this study.
You must be in a heterosexual relationship (different sex than your partner). Participation is voluntary.
What you will do
You and your spouse/partner will both:
Complete a 10 minute online survey
Participate in separate 60 minute interviews via video or over the telephone
You should feel comfortable describing private details regarding your relationship and talking about how money is handled in your relationship.
You will be paid
You will each receive $25 for participating. ($50 total per couple) Completion of the eligibility screening does not guarantee enrollment. Only couples chosen to participate in the study will be paid. No compensation is offered for completing the eligibility screening.
